On Friday, officials from the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted a raid at the home of Dasari Narendar, who serves as the superintendent and revenue in-charge at the Nizamabad Municipal Corporation in Telangana.

During the operation, the ACB discovered ₹ 2.93 crore in cash concealed in carton boxes under his bed.

In addition, they found gold valued at ₹ 6 lakh and 17 immovable properties with an estimated worth of ₹ 1.98 crore.

Narendar also had a bank balance totaling ₹ 1.10 crore spread across accounts held by himself, his wife, and his mother.

The total value of the seized assets reached approximately ₹ 6.07 crore. The raid was part of an investigation into accusations of disproportionate assets.

Narendar, who had been appointed to his position on compassionate grounds following his father's death, was subsequently arrested.

The case against him is being handled under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, specifically Sections 13(1)(b) and 13(2), which address the illicit accumulation of assets. The ACB is continuing to search for any additional assets.
